Durch seinen Vater schon im Kindesalter im Südtiroler Sarntal mit der Fischerei in Kontakt gekommen (natürlich als „Schwarzfischer“ ????), ist diese Leidenschaft nach der Pubertät wieder aufgeflammt, mit tollen Erfahrungen im Spinn- und Hegenefischen. Seit dem Jahr 2003 fischt Markus fast ausnahmslos nur noch mit der Fliege - so oft als möglich mit der Trockenen - und hat sein Hobby im Jahr 2008 zum Beruf gemacht, indem er diesen Shop gegründet hat und mit seiner Partnerin Petra führt. Markus ist auch sonst gerne mit seiner Familie in der Natur unterwegs und hat vor einigen Jahren den Reiz des Berglaufs für sich entdeckt.
