The OSTRICH HERL V2 is around 25 to 30 cm long and has long, plumaged fibres that are very mobile and move extremely seductively in the water. The feathers are treated and dyed in Italy according to Hotfly's specifications to guarantee you a fly-tying material of consistently high quality.
The fibres of these feathers can be used to tie the body and thorax elements of dry flies, emergers and nymphs. In the more striking colours, these fibres are also ideal for adding a hot spot to your artificial fly. Due to their very attractive play in the water, these fibres are also often tied lengthwise on streamers to give them an additional attraction. Furthermore, the feathers of the ostrich belong to the typical tying materials of salmon flies.
